Industrial Products Network Update for Friday, April 12, 2024

OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
While our operating teams continued to confront high winds in the Southwest along our Southern Transcon route, stretching from New Mexico and Texas to Kansas, and blizzard conditions in the Powder River Basin in southeast Montana and northeast Wyoming this week, the operation delivered relatively steady overall performance across the network.

Though slightly lower than the previous week, car velocity is holding close to average levels reported for March. Terminal dwell was reduced by nearly two percent from the last week, and our local service compliance measure is over 90 percent, improved by over two percent for the prior week and month.


SERVICE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
More high winds are expected along portions of the Southern Transcon on Monday evening and Tuesday morning as a storm system moves east from New Mexico through the Central and Southern Plains. The strongest winds are expected in eastern New Mexico, along our Clovis Subdivision into Northwest Texas, with wind gusts of 70 MPH expected. BNSF operating teams will work to move trains as efficiently and safely as possible, but customers with shipments through this region should expect delays until the winds subside on Tuesday afternoon.

The rest of the network should experience favorable operating conditions this week.
